Hot Stuff: Get Hot Under a Better Collar

Danielle Gori-Montanelli’s collars look like mini-multicolored cupcakes - no wonder we want to eat ‘em all up! Unfortunately,they are made of felt.
Each collar is a work of art and handcrafted with scissors, needle, thread and a thimble. Layer upon layer of flowers, geometrics, and concentric circles, make each a work of art. Danielle’s pieces have recently been exhibited in the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, SOFA in New York and Chicago, and the Chelsea/Origins show in London.
Danielle’s background as a painter is also apparent, as the layers of felt look very much like the layers of paint applied to a canvas. We love the whimsical, tactile 3-dimension of these collars. They’re the perfect complement to an understated sweater or tee.
