Anyone up for a game of truth or dare?  marlies|dekkers lingerie knows how to play, and blurs the line between the options with seductively sophisticated underpinnings that exist somewhere within that nebulous space between fantasy and reality. The Dutch Dekkers, who graduated cum laude from the Sint-Joost Academy of Art and Design in 1991, bases her design philosophy on making women feel radiant and confident. Her work embodies not only her flair for innovative design, but also her entrepreneurial outlook, which undoubtedly adds to the powerful philosophy she puts forth.

Her spring/summer 2008 collection is one of the most incredible we’ve seen as of late, and acclaimed photographer Carin Verbruggen lends her expert eye for creating the perfect setting for Dekkers’ models.  The carousel you’ll see in our slideshow of the collection lends the perfect balance of playful innocence and provocative edge.  I especially love how her motto, “Dare to be,” leaves something to the imagination, which is so refreshing in a field where the opposite is expected and relied on all too much.

Unfortunately for us, marlies|dekkers lingerie is only available in select parts of Europe and Thailand, but more stores are planned for the future. Do you dare see our slideshow?
