Designer and Brand Name Kid’s Clothing on a Budget
posted in Fashion & Style |For parents these days, it’s tough enough to make ends meet with gas prices exploding, housing markets nearly out of reach, energy costs doubling in the last few years, food, insurance, you name it. Then we take our precious darling’s to the mall, and all they want are the most expensive designer and name brand clothing. Not because they think they are better, but because that’s what all their friends are wearing. What can we do when the budget says yard sale?
Outlet stores and malls:
Outlet stores and outlet malls can be a good way to save on brand name clothing. The up-side is savings for the family budget and the kid’s save face at school. The down-side is these are often factory seconds. You will have to inspect the clothing articles very carefully. Most will be flawed, in some way, due to mistakes at the manufacturing level. Instead of just throwing these clothes away, the company will sell them at reduced prices, to their outlet centers who pass the saving on to their customers. If you have the time to search carefully, your kids and your budget will be happy.
Online retailers:
Another viable option is online companies that may offer discounted designer and brand name kid’s clothing. These companies can offer better pricing because:
1. They are not paying for a brick-and-mortar building. You can well imagine the cost for having a large building and warehouse to pay for.
2. Less employees. This not only reduces payroll costs, but also the cost of hiring, training, benefits, etc.
3. Insurance. This would include fire and disaster insurance for the building, as well as, accident insurance for the store’s customers.
Since online retailers do not have these costs, they can pass the savings to you, the customer. A simple Google or Yahoo search can produce many retailers to choose from. You will certainly want to make sure that you are not getting those factory seconds, though.
As parents, we all want to give our children the best possible life that we can afford. A little searching can save a lot and the kid’s can look good in the process.
