Five Commandments in Designer Suits For Men

Who says dressing up is easier for men than it is for women? If anything, men have it worse because they have less to play with. It is precisely for this reason that men should also pay careful attention to what they do with their suits.

The urban professional who is just starting out career and fashion-wise would do well to invest in at least one designer suit. Naturally, a designer suit for men doesn’t come cheap but this shouldn’t faze you. It’s well worth its weight in material, craftsmanship, and appearance. You can build your entire workplace wardrobe around one or two designer suits, mixing and matching where you can, and accessorizing where and whenever possible.

Says Coco Chanel, the French Fashion designer who had ruled over Parisian haute couture for almost six decades, ” Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” And fashion is in the designer suit for men, too. Make it the building block of your workplace look and become the smooth-talking, high-flying, well-performing fashion plate. Here’s how.

1. The Breasts Have It.

Yes, the breasts have it for men, too. Forget double-breasted suits; they would only make you stout and fat. Get a single-breasted suit instead. You can’t ever go wrong with a single-breasted designer suit for men. Get dark, solid colors such as dark blue, gray, and black and watch yourself transition from a bumbling college graduate into a slim, lean, mature executive.

2. Do Not Fabric-ate Success. Work for It.

With a good designer suit for men, you won’t have to. Why fabricate success when you can easily write your own success story — if not in the workplace just yet then in the high-style stakes? If you want to be wily about the suit you buy, go woolly. Worsted wool is lightweight and is ideal for warm months. Gabardine wool is heavier and will keep you warm during winter. Wool crepes, on the other hand, are more lightweight and have a softer finish.

The best thing about wool designer suit for men? There’s a wool for every wool. Think pinstripe, multistripe, hounds-tooth, herringbone, beaded-stripe, and windowpane to name a few.

3. Coolly Yours, Your Collar

Collars lengthen or shorten the face — this is an optical illusion Hollywood knows only too well and plays to an advantage. Men with long, lean faces look better with wide collars; these help their features look a little less long and pointed. Men with wide faces, on the other hand, should go for narrow collars to give the appearance of a longer, leaner countenance.

4. These Tie-ing Times

Times are no longer as trying, tie-wise anyway. Today, formal wear may not include a tie, as has been practiced by billionaires Richard Branson and Bill Gates. Unless you can lay claim to a fortune that’s just as vast, though, you would do well to wear a tie. A tie gives your look a focal point and pulls the pieces of your ensemble together. For a bold statement, wear patterned on patterned - a patterned tie on a patterned shirt. It’s easy to mess this look up (you could pick patterns that go in all directions, for example, or colors that contrast wildly) but if you get it right, you also get it really, really right and would surely score high marks for fashion.

A word of caution to the tie-wearing: where designer suit for men is concerned, the length of your tie is important. Your tie should end at the top of the belt buckle, with an ideal width of three to four inches.

5. A’style-watching with Watches

When all is said and done, all a man ever truly need as accessory is a watch. Forget earrings, medallions, and rings. You don’t need bling. All you need is a timepiece - which may either be gold or silver - with a large face.

With a designer suit for men, you’re all set to set the workplace on fire. As Dave Barry would say, “I do not mean to suggest for a moment that all it takes to be a top executive is a custom-tailored European suit. You also need the correct shirt and tie.”

Jean Louis Scherrer - Sophisticated Designs and Perfumes

Jean Louis Scherrer is one of the strong names in the fashion industry. His product line has long been the favorite amongst thousands of people worldwide. If you would take a look at the background of Jean Louis Scherrer, it would not be hard to understand how he has become so successful in the fashion arena at all.

Early in his youth, Scherrer developed a strong passion for ballet, and even studied at the Conservatoire de Danse Classique in Paris. His training in ballet exposed him to so many theatrical costumes and urged his creative juices to venture into designing clothes. It was then that he decided to study fashion at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.

During his early 20??™s, Scherrer landed a job as assistant to fashion guru Christian Dior, which he held for roughly 2 years. But with Dior??™s unfortunate death, he moved on to become the assistant to Yves Saint Laurent, who became the head of the empire Dior left behind. He held this job for another 2 years before he decided to leave the House of Dior to design clothes for Louis F?©raud. He also designed clothes for F?©raud for another 2 years before he ventured into creating his very own label in 1962.

It was during his apprenticeship with Dior in Paris that Scherrer learned all of the basics in designing clothes. He easily mastered the skills entailed in both cutting and draping. Not long after Saint Laurent inherited Dior??™s empire, Scherrer ventured into the haute couture he developed. At the time, a lot of fashion critics predicted that the trend of traditional couture was on its way down, but this did not dampen Scherrer??™s spirits a bit. Soon, he became popular for designs that were sophisticated, classic, and sexy, but not in a vulgar manner. Scherrer has impressed the likes of Mme. Anne-Aymone Giscard d’Estaing, Valerie-Anne Montassier, Baronness Thyssen, Isabelle d’Ornano, Fran?§oise Sagan, Mich?©le Morgan, and Raquel Welch.

Scherrer also expanded into the development of fragrances. In 1979, he released Jean Louis Scherrer Parfum for Women. In 1983, Scherrer for Women was released, with a revamped edition released in 1986. Evere for Women and Nuits Indiennes for Women were released in 1989 and 1994 respectively. And in 2002, Immense pour Femme and Immense pour Homme were released for both men and women respectively.

Hair Shampoo - What Shampoo is Best for You?

Selecting the best hair shampoo for your hair is not as hard as it may seem.?  As a hair products manufacturer, we receive hundreds of phone calls each week asking advice on what hair products to use.?  The starting place - what is your hair type and do you have any problems or changes to you would like see with your hair.

Why do we start there??  Well, hair shampoo is often organized or categorized by what it does to or for the hair.?  We often see function or active ingredients formulated to help:

  • Faster hair growth
  • Increased moisture
  • Reduced breaking and added strength
  • Color retention
  • Increased body and control

Knowing what customers want to do or “fix” allows us to narrow the shampoo options that are available.

Most customers need or want increased moisture.?  Lack of moisture is probably the leading cause of damage.?  Styling aids such as hair dryers, flat irons or curling irons can deplete moisture which break-down protein and amino acid bonds.?  This increase frizziness and fly-away hair and can lead to temporary damage.?  Lack of moisture also results in poor control and styling flexibility and can leave thin or thinning hair lifeless.

Hair shampoo with silk protein and vitamins as added ingredients help maintain protein bonds and improve strength.?  Black and African American hair are particularly prone to breakage due to lack of moisture and adequate vitamins and minerals delivered to the cuticle and follicle shaft.?  Hair shampoo formulated to strengthen cellular protein structure can reduce breaking and tearing.

Shampoos with Trichogen complex added can improve hair growth.?  Trichogen is a botanical extract complex that helps to stimulate blood flow to the root and follicle bulb.?  A leading cause of hair loss and thinning is lack of proper nutrients and accumulation of DHT.?  DHT restricts microcirculation and is the leading cause of male pattern balding and male and female hair loss.

Hair shampoo is available to address a multitude of hair styles and types.?  Products are available for faster growing hair, dry hair, oil hair and for increased body, control and manageability.?  Shampoo for dry hair can infuse moisture and reducing frizziness.?  Shampoo for oily hair can deep clean the root and help to regulate sebum production - giving you clean, fresh hair and scalp.

When lookig for a hair shampoo, consider what you need then find something that gives you the feel you’re looking for.?  You’ll know it when you feel it!

Swimsuit Shopping Tips - Finding the Perfect Suit to Compliment Your Body Type

Regardless of a women’s physical appearance, in more than 30 years in the swimsuit industry, I have never met a woman who enjoys shopping for a swimsuit. Two things that are consistent is that women hate shopping for swimsuits and women always scrutinize their own bodies, whether they are a size two or a size 16.

Help exists as swimsuit designers create swimwear with different body types in mind and trust me, the perfect suit does exist. When shopping for a must have summer wardrobe essential, I have created a few helpful hints to help you find the suit that will make you feel and look fabulous:

1. FULL BUST- Do not despair ladies there are many suits, both one piece and two piece styles, that come in D-F cups. Designers are listening to women’s’ cries for sexy and attractive suits that are specifically designed for D and DD cup women. Storm & Freya have some very attractive and young suits for women who are D through G cups. Soshanna unveiled some appealing, yet supportive designs for 2008. These suits provide support and coverage and are very much in fashion. Finally, vendors have come to realize that there are many full busted gals out there who want great looking suits that provide support and are attractive. You can find them with and without wires and with tummy control if you desire.

2. TUMMY HIDER- If you want to camouflage your tummy look for a suit that flatters and firms. Shirring, color blocking, asymmetrical patterns and surplice suits are good to take control of the mid-section. This season, the monokini is another choice that can provide a slimming illusion with a sexy appearance. This is a hybrid between a two piece and a one piece suit as its distinctive feature is fabric down the middle connecting the top and the bottom, yet revealing much of the mid-section.

3. LARGE THIGHS- Find a suit that takes the eye away from that area. Skirted tankinis are a great option, as are swim dress suits or boy short suits (jogger style).

4. HIP PROBLEMS- If you are trying to deemphasize the hip area, then you need to find a suit that flatters the leg. You should look for a suit that is cut up higher on the leg because it makes your hips look smaller. Dark bottoms are a good choice. Also try to find a suit that has interest across the top to take your eye upward, away from the hip area.

5. LONG TORSO- Suits are available in long lengths. Tankinis and two piece suits are great for long torsos too. Emphasis at the waist deemphasizes the length of the torso.

6. SMALL BUST- Many suits are available that will provide cleavage and fullness. Look for suits that have push up cups or pads inside. Shirring across the bust is also good and embellishments on the upper area also add some fullness. Find one with ruffles or a big and busy design to add emphasis to that area.

To further assist you with this shopping experience, there are a few other swimsuit fashion categories that should be considered when selecting the perfect suit to increase body confidence this summer. First, there is color. Black is timeless and always one of the top season’s colors for swimsuits. This year, navy and orange are popular hues. Swimsuit designer company Eres is featuring stylish suits, both one and two piece styles, this season in a bold orange color. Anika is offering a very sexy two piece orange style.

Complimenting bold and traditional colors, women might want to consider selecting a swimsuit with a piping detail, embellishments, or themes as a way to showcase personal style. Designer Karla Colleto offers a unique black one piece displaying a stylish black patent leather trim. Embellishments including sequins, leather, beads and Lucite are popular choices as well. Delfina’s Ivanka Bikini is a flattering young style with sequins. In the theme arena, nautical remains a strong popular themed suit style. But, nautical is not always blue and white. In fact, black and white versions dominate this season. Gideon Oberson has a few hinted nautical styles and Gottex features a deep navy suit with a nautical design with a deep V cut in the front that adds sex appeal.

After you have found the suit that makes your body look great the next shopping task is to find the cover up and accessories to further compliment your fashion style. Just as there are many choices in the swimsuit market that work with different body types, the same holds true with cover ups. Two popular options this summer include a short skirt and a big shirt cut low in the front. If you are bottom heavy, the short skirt may not be the right cover up choice for you. Take time to try on the garment with the swimsuit to see how you look. While not an absolute necessity to match the cover up with the swimsuit, there are many choices that provide a sophisticated look. Often, a cover up can even duo as a top or beach apparel item resulting in maximum usage. The long sleeve shirts look great with a pair of linen slacks or even jeans.

Finally, do not forget your head and feet when preparing for a beach weekend. A straw visor is a trendy look this year and it is easy to pack. Thong sandals continue to be the rage. Havianas thongs with the slim design are especially popular. Beach bags are great for ensuring you do not leave anything at home.

All of these items put together will result in a perfect suit for your body type along with increased body confidence and a strong fashion look while hitting the beach or hanging poolside.
